At approximately 3:10 p.m. EST on March 20, 2015, we began experiencing a service disruption with the Pardot application. It was caused by an issue with a RAID card on a server that directs Pardot traffic for all customers. Although we have a back-up system in place, the issue caused the Pardot application to run slower than normal. During this time, live landing pages and forms hosted in Pardot may have displayed an error message.
At approximately 3:25 p.m. EST, we paused email, import and automation functionality to reduce stress on the back-up system.
As soon as we identified the RAID card issue, we worked with our hardware vendor to replace it. Service was restored at approximately 5:45 p.m. EST.
To prevent this in the future, we will be adding additional servers to each of our data centers to provide extra capacity for this routing functionality. In addition, we will be adding these servers to our active monitoring service to allow near-instantaneous roll-over in the case of any issue.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue caused. Thank you for your continued business and patience during this situation.
